How it works

Sign up, play, pay

The academy's rules, in four steps.

  1. Sign up

Clinics: in the club's app, for members and day-pass visitors alike (it opens with membership), from five days before each one. Groups (to join one or start a new one) and private lessons: message the academy.

  2. Your place

A clinic place is binding once you sign up. Can't make it? Send someone in your place and you pay nothing.

  3. Too few players?

If a clinic has not filled its minimum by the evening before, it is cancelled and nobody is charged.

  4. Pay

In colones, plus IVA, by SINPE, cash or bank transfer; non-members add the club's day pass. Groups pay the month up front, and sessions the coaches or the club cancel are made up at the end.

Courts

Booking a court

Booking opens with membership, in the club's booking app. A day pass gets you through the gate; court time is booked on top, by the hour. Members get the monthly rate and book seven days ahead. Court rates are coming soon.

Good to know

Before you come

Do I need to be a member for clinics, groups or lessons?

No. The academy is open to everyone. Members pay the academy's price; non-members add the club's day pass.

How do I sign up for a clinic?

In the club's app, for members and day-pass visitors alike (it opens with membership). Sign-up for each clinic opens five days before it, and a place is binding: if you can't come, find someone to take your place and you pay nothing. If too few players have signed up by the evening before, the clinic is cancelled and nobody is charged.

Which group is right for my child?

Beginners aged 5 to 10 start in the kids clinics. The groups are matched by age and level, and each says what a player needs to join; if you are not sure, ask the academy on WhatsApp or at lennart.krotki@t-online.de.

How do I pay the academy?

By SINPE, cash or bank transfer. Prices are in Costa Rican colones, plus IVA. Groups pay for the month at the start; clinics are charged when you sign up.

What should I bring?

A racquet, court shoes and water. The roof takes care of the sun. Whether racquets and balls can be hired or bought at the club: to be confirmed by the club.

When is the best time to play in the heat?

The courts are covered, so there is shade all day, but Guanacaste is still hot from late morning to mid-afternoon. The 7am court is the coolest hour and off-peak. Evenings are peak, from 4pm until the lights go off at 9pm.

What happens when it rains?

Our courts are covered outdoor courts, not indoor ones, so they are not rainproof. The roof keeps off rain that falls straight down. When strong wind drives the rain in at the open sides, the courts can get wet, most of all near the edges, and stay wet for a while. A wet court is slippery, so play waits until it is dry. On a rainy, windy day, message us before you come. Covered, not indoor compares the three kinds of court.

How far ahead can I book a court?

Members book up to seven days ahead, in sixty or ninety minute slots, 7am to 9pm every day. Booking is in the club's booking app, which opens with membership.
